Climatic conditions

In general terms the year was dry until the middle of September with the registered rainfall in the Cima Corgo – Pinhão at 318mm, being approximately 53% against average.

The flowering took place at the end of May under good climatic conditions which resulted in good berry setting and a slightly higher than average potential production.

However the abnormally low winter rainfall combined with dry and hot summer conditions put the vines under considerable hydric stress with a resulting lower than average yield.
During the month of September the rainfall was 200-250% above average with most concentration occurring during the second half of the month.
